Wissant

Wissant is small and cozy, but the beaches are big (at low tide) and you can make amazingly long walks. Do watch out for the tides : at certain moment the beach gets very narrow !

The fields of Wissant are also beautiful to behold and you can admire great vista’s.

With some effort, you can reach either Cap Blanc Nez or Cap Gris Nez. And on a clear day, you can see England !

Around Wissant

In the area nearby Wissant there are many other towns you can visit. Taking the car and driving 15 to 30 minutes you can reach Audinghen, Audresselles and Ambleteuse.

Along to there you have many bunkers you can visit as well as large and small war musea. An absolute must is Base de Mimoyecques, a giant museum that can easily fill an entire afternoon, about 15 minutes inland.

Boulogne-sur-Mer is less than half an hour drive away, and is a mid-size city with a medieval center where you can walk on the ramparts. It also houses several large swimming pools as well as Nausicaa, which claims to be biggest aquarium of Europe.
